Regionally-Ranked Men's Soccer Programs to Meet in Conference Tournament

LATHAM, N.Y. - Two men’s soccer teams that will be squaring off in the United East Championship this weekend have both earned a spot in the most recent regional rankings. Lancaster Bible College was tabbed 7th in the NCAA Regional Poll and 4th in the United Soccer Coaches tally. Penn State Harrisburg was ranked 8th in the USC regional poll.

The Chargers finished their regular season with an overall record of 12-3-3, capping the campaign with an 8-0 victory over Penn State Altoona on Thursday. Lancaster Bible posted six players to the United East All-Conference team including Kedric Yoder who was named the Offensive Player of the Year and Andrew Cox who earned Rookie of the Year honors. Yoder was electric in the regular season finale, registering three assists which brought his career total to a program record 39.

Harrisburg concluded their regular season on a high note as well, shutting out this year’s regular season chaps, St. Mary’s College, 4-0 at home. Harrisburg claimed plenty of spots on the All-Conference squads as well as five Lions made their way onto the list. October was a top month for Harrisburg as they went unbeaten (5-0-2), outscoring their opponents 39-2.

These two programs will meet head on in the opening round of the United East Championship. Their match will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday on the campus of St. Mary’s College.
