Coach’s Season Outlook: The Hawks will have a young squad this spring with (16) first year players on the roster. They will, however, have six seniors to lean on including Liam Doyle (Sr. – Attack) who was a 1st Team All-Conference selection in 2021. Fellow seniors (and captains) Brandon Bitka (Att.) and Mike Anzalone (Def.) will help guide the Hawks throughout the year.
“We have tremendous leadership on this team and our freshmen will make an immediate impact” says head coach Mike Carbery. “They are a very motivated group after playing only 8 games in the past 2 season combined” continued Carbery.
The Hawk defense has been bolstered by the development of its returners and the additions of several key newcomers, including Kevin Doyle (Fr. – Niagara-Wheatfield) and Connor Salamida (Fr. – Victor) both of whom have been named Captains for this season as well.
The offense will be led by Doyle, Bitka & Flynn and will see many rookies heavily involved as well. It should be a more balanced attack in 2022.

The 2022 season has great leaders in our captains, John Aiello and Jimmy Woderak who will both be strong defensive presences. Coach’s Season Outlook:
Our expectations are very basic and simple for this season as we look for each player to learn the programs theories and philosophies of the game. We are a new team with a lot of potential, however, have a lot of learning and growing as a team in order to achieve success this season. We are working hard on building a bond with each other as a staff and players earning trust and “buy-in” within our program.
We are looking to be strategic with our offensive sets rather than offensive plays. This will allow our guys to utilize their athleticism, creativity and I.Q. making the offense less predictable. Our focus is not on any single player but rather on the team firing on all cylinders to maximize success. Defensively we are new and young so we will look to keep our strategy as simple as possible while we continue to build chemistry.
