General 10/24/2023 10:00:00 AM United East Athletes of the Week - October 24, 2023 LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for October 24, 2023. Today will include Athletes of the Week for Field Hockey, Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Cross Country, and Men’s Golf. This week’s selections included contests from Monday, October 16 through Sunday, October 22. A total of 5 student-athletes were recognized for their performances. Field Hockey Offensive Player of the Week Belen Rodriguez / So / Keystone College / Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina / Colegio Santa Brigida Rodriguez tallied a hat trick as Keystone defeated Lancaster Bible on Saturday. Also, she recorded an assist in the Giants victory over Cedar Crest Wednesday evening. This week the Giants wrapped up the United East portion of the schedule undefeated as they prepare for postseason play. This is the third Player of the Week honor for Rodriguez, who previously won the award for the weeks of October 10, 2022 and September 6, 2022 and was a First Team All-CSAC selection in 2022. Defensive Player of the Week Lucia Cisilino / FY / Keystone College / Tandil, Buenos Aires, Argentina / San Jose HS Cisilino was a force on defense as the Giants surrendered only one goal in a 2-0 week where they allowed just six shots. In addition, Cisilino scored her first collegiate goal in the win over Cedar Crest and tallied one assist in the victory against Lancaster Bible to wrap up conference play undefeated. Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Dana Keller / Jr / Lancaster Bible College / Kiev, Ukraine / Keller was just three seconds shy of her personal best in the 6000 meter run at the LVC Last Chance Run Fast Invitational on Friday afternoon. The junior finished in the top ten with a time of 24:37.87. Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Mitchell Gray / Sr / Lancaster Bible College / Schaefferstown, Pa. / ELCO Senior Mitchell Gray finished in the top ten at the Lebanon Valley “Last Chance Run Fast” meet on Friday afternoon. Gray finished with a time of 26:32.55, in 6th place, having only been beaten by Division I runners from the United States Naval Academy. This is the sixth Runner of the Week honor for Gray who previously won on September 19, 2023, September 5, 2023, September 6, 2022, October 4, 2022, and October 25, 2022. Gray was the 2022 United East champion en route to his Runner of the Year and NCAA Division III All-Region awards last season. Men’s Golf Player of the Week Kolin Grogesky / Jr / Penn State Berks / Exeter, Pa. / Exeter Kolin Grogesky continued his strong play by helping the Nittany Lions place 5th out of seven competing teams at the Albright College Fall Invitational. The junior carded a 78 to place eighth out of 37 golfers. This is the second Athlete of the Week award for Grogesky, who won for the week of September 17, 2023.
