LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East Conference is proud to recognize 296 student-athletes who were inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society, during the 2025-26 academic year.
The conference’s inductees combined to post an impressive 3.746 cumulative grade-point average.
Chi Alpha Sigma is the first and only nonprofit national scholar-athlete society established to recognize four-year collegiate student-athletes who excel in the classroom and in athletic competition. The organization was founded in 1996 by then-DePauw University head football coach Nick Mourouzis and is celebrating 30 years of honoring outstanding student-athletes.
To qualify for membership, a student-athlete must compete at the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher following their fourth full-time semester and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Selection is made by an institution’s athletics department designee in consultation with the student-athlete’s head coach and is based upon outstanding scholarship, status as an earned athletic letterwinner, and excellent character and citizenship.
St. Mary’s College of Maryland led the United East with 70 inductees. Lancaster Bible College followed with 43 honorees, while Wilson College recognized 40 student-athletes. Pennsylvania College of Technology recorded 24 inductees, and Penn State Harrisburg added 23.
The University of Valley Forge posted the highest reported average GPA among the conference’s chapters at 3.85. Keystone College and Penn College each recorded a 3.80 average, followed by Penn State Brandywine and Wilson College at 3.78.
