2024 Women's Basketball Championship Field Set

LATHAM, N.Y. - The 2024 United East Women’s Basketball Championship field of twelve is set, as the League schedule came to a close on Wednesday evening.

Notre Dame of Maryland University earned the No. 1 seed in the Skye Division after finishing the season 16-2 in league play and collecting the regular season divisional season crown.

Penn State Harrisburg earned the No. 1 seed in the Volt Division after a victory this evening to finish the season 11-1 in divisional play and winning the regular season divisional championship. 

Saint Elizabeth University and Gallaudet University earned the No. 2 seeds in the Skye and Volt Divisions, respectively.  Saint Elizabeth earned the No. 2 seed in the Skye with a 15-3 divisional record.  Gallaudet is the No. 2 seed in the Volt after tonight’s win over Penn College to finish the conference regular season with a 10-2 record in Volt Division play. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in each division have earned a first-round bye and home court advantage.

In the Skye Division, No. 6 Cedar Crest College will travel to No. 3 Bryn Athyn while No. 5 seed Cairn will travel to No. 4 seed Wilson in the quarterfinals.  The lowest remaining seed will advance to the divisional semifinals on Monday, February 19 to play at No. 1 Notre Dame of Maryland while the highest advancing seed will play at No. 2 Saint Elizabeth.  Skye Division finals will be held at the highest remaining seed on Wednesday, February 21.

In the Volt Division, No. 6 Penn College will travel to No. 3 Penn State Abington while No. 5 seed Lancaster Bible will travel to No. 4 seed St. Mary’s in the quarterfinals. Though SMC and LBC were tied in the standings with 6-6 records, SMC earned the 4 seed by winning the tiebreaker by Results Against Divisional Teams in Descending Order.  The Seahawks and Chargers split their season series, but SMC went 1-1 over top-seeded Penn State Harrisburg while LBC went 0-2.

The lowest remaining seed will advance to the divisional semifinals on Monday, February 19 to play at No. 1 Penn State Harrisburg while the highest advancing seed will play at No. 2 Gallaudet.  Volt Division finals will be held at the highest remaining seed on Wednesday, February 21.

Divisional champions will meet in the 2024 United East Women’s Basketball Championship Game on Saturday, February 24 hosted at the home of the Skye Division champion.
