United East Athletes of the Week - January 13, 2025

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for January 13, 2025.  Today will include Athletes of the Week for Men’s and Women’s Basketball.  This week’s selections included contests from Monday, January 6 through Sunday, January 12, 2025.  A total of 4 student athletes were recognized for their performances.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Cam Lexow / SO / Gallaudet University / Abington, Pa. / Abington HS

    Lexow led Gallaudet to a perfect 2-0 week in conference play as the Bison picked up two road wins. Lexow averaged 23.5 points per game, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks on the week while accumulating 47 points, 11 rebounds, nine steals, five assists and three blocks in 48 minutes played. Lexow shot .500 from the field (21 for 42). 

    This is the third Player of the Week award for Lexow, who previously won for the weeks of November 25, 2024, and January 8, 2024.  This season Lexow leads the league with 2.5 blocked shots per game (37 total), 3.7 steals per game (56 total), is third in the league with 257 total points, fourth with 17.1 points per game and fourth with a .482 shooting percentage. 

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Keira Mason / FY / St. Mary’s College of Maryland / Brandywine, Md. / Gwynn Park HS

    Mason started the week with six points, a career-best six steals, five rebounds (all defensive), and four assists in an 82-22 win over Rosemont. Mason then recorded her fifth double-double of the season with game-bests of 19 points and 14 boards (10 defensive) plus a career-best three blocks and two steals in a 78-58 road win over Penn State Berks.

    This is the first Player of the Week award for Mason, who is currently fifth in the league with 135 total rebounds and ninth in the league averaging 9.0 rebounds per game while totaling 13 blocked shots: good for 11th in the league. Additionally, Mason is eighth in the United East averaging 13.5 points per game. 

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Isaiah Eggleston / Sr / Penn State Harrisburg / Roanoke, Va. / Carlisle School / St. Mary’s (Md.) College

    Isaiah Eggleston had a monster week leading Penn State Harrisburg to a pair of conference victories. The forward netted a game-high 21 points on 52.9 percent shooting in a win over Wilson on Wednesday night and followed it up by pouring in a career-high 31 points on 60.9 percent shooting and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season in a win over Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon. He also added three assists, three blocks and three steals in the win over the Chargers. For the week, he averaged 26 points per game on 58 percent shooting to go along with 7.5 rebounds, two blocks, two steals and 1.5 assists per contest. 

    This is the second Player of the Week award for Eggleston who previously won for the week of December 16, 2024.  This season, Eggleston is seventh in the league averaging 16.3 points per game, seventh in field goal percentage shooting at a .483 clip, and is second with a 82.4% clip from the free-throw line.  Additionally, Eggleston is second in the league totaling 27 blocks for a 1.8 per game average. 

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Aiden Brown / FY / Penn State Abington / Peekskill, N.Y. / MCS Charter School

    In a 2-1 week for the Nittany Lions, Brown scored in double-figures each game and averaged 14.6 points per game to go along with 8.33 rebounds while totaling 11 steals and five blocks on defense. In the team's win against Haverford, Brown came off the bench and scored 18 points in 18 minutes of playing time while recording eight rebounds. He also had four steals and two blocks on defense. Brown followed that up with his first career double-double in the setback against Notre Dame.  He finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds and added another four steals and two blocks on the defensive end.  Brown capped the week with 12 points and seven rebounds in the team's win at Penn State Brandywine.  He also had three steals and a block. 

    This is the first Player of the Week award for Brown.
