COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the third week in a row, two United East field hockey teams have appeared in the Regional Rankings. St. Mary’s College of Maryland (10-4, 3-0 UEC) has moved up one spot to fifth while Penn State Harrisburg (11-2, 3-1 UEC) has moved to sixth in the Region IV rankings.

The Seahawks took care of both of their conference contests this week, extending their shut out streak to four straight. In a battle between previously mentioned Harrisburg, the Seahawks won 2-0 before taking down Cedar Crest College, 8-0, in a weekend tilt. Over the last four contests, St. Mary’s College has outscored its opponents 20-0. Sophia Kent has played a major part in that as the netminder has accrued 77 saves on the season while allowing just 14 goals.

The Lions fell to St. Mary’s College in their midweek tilt but bounced back with a 4-0 win over Wilson College over the weekend. Ami Mattingly continues to be the offensive rock for the team, adding two goals to her league-leading 23 on the season.

Both teams wrap up their regular season this week beginning with the Seahawks who take on the top team in the country, Christopher Newport University, on Wednesday before hosting Wilson for a shot to secure the top seed in the United East Championship. Harrisburg rounds out its year with a Wednesday night road tilt with Lancaster Bible College.
