United East Athletes of the Week - November 10, 2025

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for November 310, 2025.  Today will include Players of the Week from Men's and Women's Basketball.

This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, November 9.  A total of four student-athletes from three different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
 

Women’s Basketball

Offensive Player of the Week
Breana Valentine / SO / Penn College / Fairfield, Pa. / Fairfield

Valentine was instrumental in getting the Wildcats season off to a good start, spurring an team that posted an 2-0 record on the weekend. The sophomore began her season with a double-double in a win over Alfred State, registering 18 points to go along with 10 boards. She then went on to drop 25 points in a win against Keuka College the following day. She was particularily effective from the charity stripe, going 21-24 across the weekend. It wasn't just scoring though as she also distributed the ball posting nine assists over the two-game span. 

This is the first weekly accolade in Valentine's career.


Defensive Player of the Week
Leah Laubach / SO / Wilson College / Marietta, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic

Laubach shined offensively, but her defensive abilities were also on notice as she pulled down 13 rebounds to go with 17 points for a double-double in Saturday's season opening win. Ten of her caroms were on the defensive end alone. In addition to that, she blocked three shots and pilfered three steals.

This is Laubach's first ever weekly accoalde.
 

Men’s Basketball

Offensive Player of the Week
Jalen Pierce / SR / Wilson College / Richmond, Pa. / Collegiate

Few had better opening weekends than Jalen Pierce as he averaged 21 points and 9 rebounds per game. He did so while shooting 80% (16-for-20) from the field as well. He opened with a 12 point, 7 rebound performance at Gettysburg where he went 5-for-7 with four assists as the Phoenix nearly knocked off the tournament hosts as a last-second 3-point attempt just missed giving Wilson the victory. The very next night Gettysburg took No. 2 Randolph-Macon to the wire before falling by three points. Just before that Pierce heated up the floor once again by going 11-for-13 from the field, including a perfect 4-for-4 on 3-pointers, and dished out four more assists. He added 11 rebounds for a double-double, nine of which were off the glass.

This is Pierce's first ever weekly accoalde.




Defensive Player of the Week
Corey Baldwin / GR / Cairn University / Henderson, N.C. / Vance County HS

Baldwin was a menace on the court, filling up the stat sheet as he helped his Highlanders to a season-opening victory over Penn State Brandywine. The transfer hauledin 17 boards on the day, including 12 on the defensive glass. He also picked up a block and a steal. Adding to his outing, he put up 25 points to give himself a double-double.

This is Baldwin's first ever weekly accoalde.
