Pon, Druck Named United East Senior Scholar Athletes of the Year

LATHAM, N.Y. – The United East has announced its Male and Female Senior Student-Athletes of the Year for the 2025-26 academic year. Diana Pon of the Penn State Harrisburg women’s soccer team and Fisher Druck of the Penn State Harrisburg baseball team have both earned the honor.

These two student-athletes were selected from a pool of 21 Senior Scholar-Athletes named throughout the academic year. Each nominee exhibited outstanding achievement in athletics, academics, and community involvement.

Diana Pon | Women’s Soccer | Penn State Harrisburg

A two-year standout at Penn State Harrisburg, Diana Pon capped her collegiate career with the finest statistical season in program history. The team captain earned United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team honors after ranking among the nation's leaders with 48 points, 18 goals, 12 assists and six game-winning goals. She was also named United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region and United East First Team All-Conference after collecting two conference Offensive Player of the Week awards. During the 2025 season, Pon set Penn State Harrisburg single-season records for points and assists while tying the program mark for game-winning goals and finishing second in goals scored. Across her collegiate career at Penn State Harrisburg and Penn State Berks, she earned All-America recognition, three all-region honors, conference Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year accolades, and four first-team all-conference selections. She finished her career ranked among the top active NCAA Division III players with 131 points, 49 goals and 33 assists.

Pon played a pivotal role in one of the most successful seasons in Penn State Harrisburg women's soccer history. She converted the decisive penalty kick in a shutout victory over nationally ranked Messiah before recording a goal and an assist in the Lions' NCAA Tournament win over Christopher Newport. Her leadership helped guide Penn State Harrisburg to a program-record 16 victories, a second consecutive United East Championship, two NCAA Tournament wins and the first NCAA Round of 16 appearance in program history. "When I think of Diana, I think of someone who pursues excellence in everything she does," said Penn State Harrisburg head coach Brandon West. "She holds herself to the highest standards both on the field and in the classroom and gives nothing but her best. She has led by example in our program and has been a crucial part in our program's continual growth as a top women's soccer program in the region and nation. Diana has been a great representation of our program and is fully deserving of this award."

The Finance major has matched her athletic success with excellence in the classroom. Pon was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team this fall, earned two CSC Academic All-District honors, was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma and received four conference all-academic awards while maintaining a 3.63 cumulative GPA as she pursues her master's degree. Beyond campus, she has proudly represented the Panamanian National Team, most recently appearing in FIFA international friendlies against Bolivia after previously competing against Japan as the youngest player on Panama's squad in 2021. She has also given back to her community by volunteering with Feeding South Florida, helping collect and distribute food to families in need.

Fisher Druck | Baseball | Penn State Harrisburg

Fisher Druck concluded one of the most decorated pitching careers in Penn State Harrisburg baseball history this spring, earning ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com All-Region honors after being named to the United East All-Conference First Team for the third time. The senior ranked among the nation's leaders with eight wins and 75 strikeouts while posting a 3.19 ERA and 1.20 WHIP across 73.1 innings. He delivered one of his best performances in an NCAA Regional victory over nationally ranked Russell Sage, allowing just two runs over seven innings, and struck out a career-high 12 batters in a win over Wilson during the regular season. A United East Pitcher of the Week selection, Druck finished his career as Penn State Harrisburg's all-time leader in wins (27), starts (47) and innings pitched (248.2) while ranking second in strikeouts (241) and fourth in ERA (3.29). He also concluded his career among the top active NCAA Division III pitchers in starts, wins and strikeouts.

"Fisher has been the model student-athlete for four years," said Penn State Harrisburg head coach Ryan Bown. "On the field, he has been the most reliable pitcher in our program, which is why he's the all-time wins leader in our program's history. In the classroom he has dominated just as much, earning both his undergraduate and master's degrees in four years. We will miss him greatly next year as he is one of those players you simply can't replace."

Druck's success extended well beyond the diamond. The Accounting major graduated in May with a 3.88 cumulative GPA after earning three College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors, four United East All-Academic Team selections, induction into Chi Alpha Sigma and the 2024 United East Elite 20 Award. Away from campus, he volunteered at Oak Hill Village Senior Living in Middletown, assisting with gardening and outdoor maintenance for residents, while also supporting local food drives and Meals on Wheels events.
