Two Individuals & Two Teams Collect Academic Honors

LATHAM, N.Y. - A pair of United East men’s cross country teams as well as two individuals earned All-Academic honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) this week. St. Mary’s College of Maryland and Lancaster Bible College both collected team All-Academic nods while Michael Wade (St. Mary’s College) and Mitchell Gray (Lancaster Bible College) both earned individual accolades.

To qualify for Team All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.1 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, among other qualifiers. To qualify for Individual All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet. 

The Seahawks maintained a GPA of 3.25 this year while finishing second at this year’s United East Championships. Michael Wade was the top finisher for the Seahawks, crossing the finish line third with a time of 27:32.75.

Lancaster Bible combined for a GPA of 3.25 as well, taking fourth as a team at the Championship meet. Gray completed his three-peat as he topped the field for the third-straight year, finishing with a time of 26:04.03.
