United East Players of the Week - September 8, 2025

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East has announced its Players of the Week for the week ending on September 7, 2025. Eight players across five member institutions have been recognized for their accomplishments in the sports of men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and field hockey.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Brenna Ziegler / Sr / St. Mary's College (Md.) / Newark, DE / Newark Charter School

    Ziegler was a key offensive spark in a perfect 2–0 week for the Seahawks. She opened the scoring with the game-winning goal in a 2–0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan and followed with another game-winning tally and an assist in a 2–1 win against Bridgewater (Va.). Ziegler has proven to deliver in critical moments as she has been a crucial piece to the Seahawks third straight win.

    This marks the first weekly United East award of the season for Ziegler.
     

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Sophia Kent / So / St. Mary's College (Md.) / Chesterville, MD / The Gunston School

    Kent anchored the St. Mary’s defense with two strong performances in goal, posting a 0.50 goals against average and an impressive .917 save percentage. She began the week with a three-save shutout in the win over Virginia Wesleyan and then turned aside eight shots to preserve a 2–1 victory over Bridgewater (Va.). Her efforts helped the Seahawks limit opponents to just one goal across 120 minutes of action.

    This marks the first weekly United East award of the season for Kent.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Emanuel Lazor / So. / Cairn University / Midland Park, NJ / Eastern Christian

    Lazor provided a clutch offensive moment for the Highlanders, scoring the game-tying goal in the 86th minute of a 2–2 draw at Ramapo. His late strike secured an important road result for Cairn and capped a week in which he played all 180 minutes across two matches, helping stabilize the midfield while contributing to the attack.

    This marks the first weekly United East award of the season for Lazor.

     

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Micah Dressler / Fr. / Lancaster Bible College / McAlisterville, PA / Juniata Christian

    Dressler, a freshman goalkeeper, was a difference-maker for the Chargers, leading them to a 1–0–1 week. He recorded nine saves over two matches, including a six-save performance in a 2–1 win over Wilkes and his first career shutout in a 0–0 draw against Alvernia. Facing 24 shots on the week, Dressler posted a .900 save percentage in just his second week of collegiate action.

    This marks the first ever weekly United East award for Dressler.

  • Defensive Player of the Week

    Kyleigh Bland / So / St. Mary's College of Maryland / Arnold, MD / Broadneck

    Bland anchored the Seahawks’ defense with two shutouts in a 1–1–1 week, including a stellar performance in a scoreless draw against No. 2 William Smith, where she made eight saves to keep the nationally-ranked Herons off the board. She added three saves in a 1–0 win over Hood and six more against Rowan, finishing the week with a 1.38 goals against average and an .810 save percentage. 

    This is the first weekly award of the season for Bland.

    Offensive Player of the Week

    Diana Pon / Sr / Penn State Harrisburg / Miami, Fla. / American Heritage School

    Pon delivered a dominant offensive performance to lead the Lions to a perfect 3–0 week. The senior midfielder tallied five goals over three matches, including a pair of goals — one of them the game-winner — in a 3–1 victory over Susquehanna. She followed that performance with a hat trick in a 5–3 win at Pitt-Greensburg, and capped her week by contributing to a 2–0 victory over Saint Vincent. 

    This is the first weekly award of the season for Pon.

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Ella Gamble / Sr / Gallaudet University / Cullowhee, NC / Carson-Newman / Smoky Mountiain

    Gamble was the driving force behind Gallaudet’s 2–1 performance at the New York University Invitational, running the offense with 110 assists (10.0 per set) and adding an exceptional presence from the service line with 13 aces. She played her best in the biggest moments, including seven aces and 49 assists in a five-set win over Stevens, where she served three straight aces to spark a decisive 10–0 run in the final set. Gamble also contributed 21 digs and six blocks, showcasing her all-around impact in the Bison’s bounce-back week.

    This is the first weekly award of the season for Gamble.

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Madison Timberlake / Senior / Lancaster Bible College / Hedgesville, W.V. / Faith Christian Academy

    Timberlake anchored the defense for the Chargers with a standout week, averaging 5.83 digs per set across two matches. She recorded 17 digs in a 3–0 win over Elizabethtown and followed with 18 digs against Eastern, continuing her streak of double-digit dig performances in every match this season. Her consistency and defensive coverage have been crucial to Lancaster Bible’s early-season success.

    This marks the second weekly United East award of the season (9/1) for Timberlake.
