LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its 2025-26 Men’s Basketball All-Conference Teams and major award winners.
The All-Conference Teams are three teams made up of eight student-athletes each, including two at-large selections. Four major awards have also been handed out including Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year.
Major Award Winners
Player of the Year - Camden Hurst (Lancaster Bible College)
Defensive Player of the Year - Marlon Lewis (Notre Dame of Maryland University)
Rookie of the Year - Korey Blair (St. Mary’s College of Maryland)
Coach of the Year - Nick Burke (Penn State Brandywine)
Hurst really took a leadership role for the Chargers this season, helping the squad earn the top spot in the postseason. A scoring machine, the junior has recorded 208 made field goals this year (11th in the country) for a total of 558 points (23rd in the country). His 21.5 points-per-game rank first in the conference and 38th in Division III. Consistency is key as he has scored double-digits in all 26 games this year, has hit the 20-point mark 19 times and the 30-point mark twice. His attention to defense has served him well too, racking up a league-leading 54 steals this season. This year, Hurst collected Offensive Player of the Week honors five separate times.
Lewis has been a stalwart on the defensive end for the Gators, helping the team to a 10-3 conference record this season. The forward controlled the paint, blocking a conference-leading 42 shots this year. Lewis cleaned the glass too, ranking in the top-8 in the conference in both defensive and offensive boards while his average of 6.5 total ranked sixth. One of his top performances came against Valley Forge in which he sat on a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double while also registering three blocks and three steals.
Blair was a standout in his first season playing collegiate basketball, leading his squad in a number of statistical categories. The first year averaged a team-leading 13.9 points per game while scoring 334 points (16th best in the conference). Blair excelled at the free throw line, as his shooting percentage of 79.5 was tied for fourth best in the league. The guard scored over 10 points in 19 games this season, cashing in 22 in the regular season finale against Penn State Brandywine.
Head Coach Nick Burke turned his team completely around in one season, going from failing to make the playoffs last year to tied for the best record in the league in 2025-26. Defense played a large part in the success as his squad held teams to just 70.5 points-per-game, the second best in the league. That was due to holding their opponents to a United East low of 41.4% shooting from the field. Burke guided three players to All-Conference selections this year.
