Harrisburg Takes the 2026 United East Men's Basketball Crown in Second Half Thriller

LATHAM, N.Y. - The 2026 United East Men's Basketball Championship concluded on Saturday, as Penn State Harrisburg captured the title, with a score of 72-71. 

Penn State Harrisburg has punched their ticket to the NCAA Championship Tournament. The Lions will learn more about their fate in the tournament during the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Selection Show on Monday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m. The selection show can be viewed on NCAA.com.

#4 Penn State Harrisburg def. #3 Cairn University, 72-71 (BOX SCORE)

In a back-and-forth thriller, Penn St. Harrisburg pulled out a 72–71 win to capture the 2026 United East Men's Basketball Championship, sealed by Andre Thomas' layup with 34 seconds left of play. Chris Henderson led the Lions with 15 points, while also grabbing five rebounds. Dylan Moore added 14 points, including three triples, and Jordan Spencer chipped in 12 points with a strong all-around presence that earned him MVP honors. Kevin Lucas Jr. had 13 points and three assists, and David Reed IV contributed 12 points. For Cairn, Corey Baldwin went off for a team-high 20 points on 4-of-8 three-point shooting, and Jaylon Simpson scored 18 with a pair of steals. Andrew DaCosta added 12 points while Ron Ayers chipped in 8 points and two triples.
