LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for March 17, 2026.  Today will include Athletes of the Week from men's and women's tennis awards. 

This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, March 15.  A total of 2 student-athletes from two different institutions were recognized for their performances.

 

Stoltzfus picked up two singles wins and a doubles victory as the Charger men's tennis team wrapped up their Spring Break Trip. The first year produced the sole point in a loss to Mount Saint Mary as he battled to win 7-6 (7-1), 7-6 (9-7) at the first singles position. He'd also collect a win at first doubles with Cole Scheihing as they defeated their opponents 6-2. In the second match of the week, Stoltzfus once again came up with the Charger point as he took down the Buena Vista #1 singles player 6-4, 6-4.

This is Stoltzfus' first United East weekly accolade of the season..

Women’s Tennis

Strohecker picked up a trio of victories as the Lions went 1-1 on the week. The sophomore started the outing with a doubles win (with Ava Shepps) as they combined to beat Curry College's top flight, 6-0. She'd then pick up a win at second singles, dropping just a single set (6-1, 6-0). In the loss to Alfred University, Strohecker took home the only point as she defeated her second singles foe 7-6, 6-2.

This is Strohecker's first United East weekly accolade of the season.
