LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for March 23, 2026. Today will include Players of the Week from women's flag football, men's volleyball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, baseball and softball awards.
This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, March 22. A total of 12 student-athletes from eight different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
Men’s Volleyball
Offensive Player of the Week
Carson Hoover / JR / Lancaster Bible College / Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga, Pa.
Hoover played a large role in the Charger's 2-0 week, helping his squad continue its conference unbeaten streak and punch their ticket to the postseaosn. In the midweek win over Valley Forge, Hoover dished out nine kills but did a bunch of damage from the service line as he aced the Patriots seven times. He'd add three more aces and five more kills in the weekend win over Immaculata. On the week, the junior swung with an attack percentage of .344.
This is Hoover's first ever United East weekly accolade.
Defensive Player of the Week
Zachary Bippus / SO / Gallaudet University / Fishers, Ind.
Gallaudet University sophomore outside hitter Zachary Bippus compiled 24 kills, 14 digs, five blocks and four aces in two victories for the Bison last Saturday at home. Bippus had 12 kills in each of GU's 3-0 wins, which included a conference win over Saint Elizabeth. Bippus made nine digs, two blocks and three aces against the Eagles. He completed the week with 12 kills, five digs, three blocks and one ace against Penn St.-Schuylkill. Bippus is one of the top attackers in the United East this season with 275 kills.
This is Bippus' third United East weekly accoalde of the season and his first of the defensive variety (02/09/26, 03/09/26).
Women's Flag Football
Offensive Player of the Week
Nadia King / FY / Penn State Harrisburg / Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Township
King was all over the field as she led the Lions to another pair of conference victories. The first year went 20-42 with 215 yards and five touchdowns through the air. On the ground, she racked up 175 yards rushing and added six more touchdowns. She'd hit the touchdown trifecta as she caught one on her only reception of the weekend. King also was a standout on the other side of the ball, racking up three interceptions.
This is King's third weekly accolade of the season, winning both Offenisve and Defensive Player of the Week in the opening weekend of the season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Carpenter / GR / Penn State Harrisburg / Chester, Va. / Matoaca
Carpenter was a cornerstone of a defensive that kept both opponents scoreless this past weekend. The graduate student nabbed a pair of interceptions against Lancaster Bible College before adding one more in the win over Cedar Crest College. She also registered five tackles between the two contests. On special teams, Carpenter took back a punt return for a touchdown as well.
This is Carpenter's first ever United East weekly accolade in women's flag football
Baseball
Player of the Week
Tim Haftl / SR / Penn State Harrisburg / Oxford, Pa. / Oxford
Tim Haftl was key to helping Penn State Harrisburg to a 4-1 week. The senior slashed .529/.571/.765 with a 1.336 OPS, racking up nine hits, seven RBI and six runs scored. The middle infielder tallied two doubles, a triple, a pair of walks and a stolen base, recording multiple hits in four of the team's five games this past week.
This is Haftl's first ever United East weekly accolade.
Pitcher of the Week
Chase Supensky / SR / Wilson College / Baltimore, Md. / Towson
Supensky went the distance as Wilson blanked Cairn in the first game of a Saturday sweep. He did so in impressive fashion as he allowed just three hits while striking out nine Highlanders in 7.0 innings of work.
This is Supensky's first ever United East weekly accolade.
Softball
Pitcher of the Week
Mackenzie Tice / SO / Penn College / Mansfield, Pa. / North-Penn Mansfield
Tice made an appearance in 10 innings of work to help the Wildcats in a doubleheader sweep of Penn State Altoona on Saturday. In a 2-0 game one victory, Tice tossed a three-hit complete game shutout and racked up 12 Ks, including her 200th career strikeout in her sixth victory of the season. She also picked up a save and struckout four more in three innings of action during game two.
This is Tice's first United East weekly accolade of the season and her second in her career (03/24/26)
Player of the Week
Emily Randalls / SO / Wilson College / Dillsburg, Pa. / Northern York
Randalls was a big source of offense as she went 8-for-15 with seven runs scored in five games over the past week. She had the speedburners on as well with four extra base hits with three of them triples.
This is Randalls' first ever United East weekly accolade.
Women’s Lacrosse
Offensive Player of the Week
Katelin Scala / SR / St. Mary's College of Maryland / Catonsville, Md. / Mount de Sales Academy
Katelin Scala notched 11 draw controls, six goals, two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and an assist over the Seahawks' two games. Scala tallied a goal and an assist plus a season-best eight draws, two ground balls and a caused turnover in a 15-13 loss at Washington College. She then scored a career-best five goals plus three draws and a caused turnover in a 15-9 loss at No. 16 Messiah.
This is Scala's first ever United East weekly accolade.
Defensive Player of the Week
Audra Leiter / FY / Cedar Crest College / Vernon, N.J. / Vernon Township
Leiter recorded 10 ground balls and six caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Falcons. She began the week with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers in a 19-6 win over Bryn Mawr and then tallied two ground balls and three caused turnovers in a loss to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Leiter also pitched in two points on a goal and an assist.
This is Leiter's first ever United East weekly accolade.
Men’s Lacrosse
Offensive Player of the Week
Owen Kupsey / SO / Penn College / Chadds Ford, Pa. / Unionville
Kupsey's offensive output, compiling 14 points on 12 goals and two assists led the Wildcats to a pair of nonconference victories. The sophomore attackman posted a team-high eight points with six goals and two assists against Marywood on Wednesday and added six goals at Montclair on Saturday. He also scooped up three ground balls and forced two turnovers in the victories.
This is Kupsey's second weekly accolade of the season and the third of his career (02/16/26, 03/31/25)
Defensive Player of the Week
Hunter Shank / JR / Pitt-Bradford / Hubert, N.C. / Swansboro
Hunter Shank made 43 saves at a 63.2% rate in a 1-1 week for Pitt-Bradford. He also tallied 3 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers. Against Augustana, he made 21 saves on 27 shots to lead the Panthers to victory.
This is Shank's second ever United East weekly accolade (03/02/26)
