North Eastern Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Championships and All-Conference Selections

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) concluded its women’s cross country season with its conference championship held at SUNY Cobleskill (Cobleskill, N.Y.) today.  Host SUNY Cobleskill captured its third straight title with a team score of 36.

Cazenovia College finished in second place with a team score of 68, while Wells College came in third with 72 points.  The rest of the team finishes were as follows: Morrisville State College (4th, 107 points), Keuka College (5th, 154 points), Penn State Harrisburg (6th, 165 points), Penn State Abington (7th, 172 points), Gallaudet University (8th, 189 points) and SUNY Institute of Technology (9th, 223 points).

Individually, Wells College freshman Emily Middlebrook (Newark, N.Y.) took home first place with a time of 19:28 at the 5K course en route to being named both the NEAC Runner of the Year and the conference’s inaugural Rookie of the Year.  Middlebrook won two NEAC Student-Athlete of the Week awards during the year.

Wells College’s Julie Bailey received the NEAC Coach of the Year honors after one first-place finish and five top-five finishes on the year.
