Women's Cross Country Competes at NCAA Regionals

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East saw a majority of its women’s cross country teams competing across two different regional races on Saturday. The Mid-Atlantic Regional in Newville, Pa. saw four United East teams competing while another four squads competed at the Metro Regional in Logan Township, N.J.

Ella Mitchell was the top finisher for the United East on the women’s side in the Mid-Atlantic meet, finishing 58th with a time of 23:59..57. Seana Dougherty placed 74th with a time of 24:26.09 and was followed by MaKayla Reichel of Penn State Harrisburg with a time of 24:41.75 in 86th place. Lancaster Bible’s Abby Ames was not far behind in 87th place. Penn College’s top finisher of the day was Alexis Durn with a time of 26:48.77.

Lancaster Bible finished first of the United East squads in 19th place with St. Mary’s College finishing in 21st, Penn State Harrisburg in 23rd, and Penn College wrapping up in 27th place.

In the Metro Regional, Cairn finished first of United East institutions in 21st place. Cedar Crest College followed in 23rd while University of Valley Forge and Penn State Abington rounded out the teams in 24th and 25th place.

AyliGrace Munro of Cairn University finished with a time of 25:38.6 in 109th place while Sofia Troland came in with a time of 26:06.7 to be Valley Forge’s top finisher of the day. Cedar Crest’s Giada Smith came in with a time of 26:40.0, while Nina Maxwell had the top time for Penn State Abington at 30:10.4
