Penn State Berks Claims First NEAC Women's Cross Country Crown
GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The Penn State Berks women’s cross country team earned its first North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Championship after totaling 63 points at the championship race, hosted by Morrisville State College on Saturday.

The Nittany Lions placed three runners in the top ten with sophomore Michelle Kiss (Lebanon, Pa.) leading the field as the individual champion. Kiss finished the 6K race with a time of 24:55.3 to also earn NEAC Runner of the Year and All-Conference First Team honors. Her championship performance comes during an outstanding season in which she was named NEAC Runner of the Week on two occasions.
Lancaster Bible’s Sami Stoner (Maytown, Pa.) was named NEAC Rookie of the Year after a second-place finish. The Chargers’ sophomore, who has received NEAC weekly honors twice, crossed the finish line with a final time of 25:38.5. Penn State Berks head coach Katie Scheetz-Jones was named the NEAC Coach of the Year for the first time in her career after guiding the Nittany Lions to their historic finish.
Cazenovia College placed second for the fourth-straight season with 78 total points. Eight-time defending champion SUNY Cobleskill finished third with 82 points while SUNY Poly earned a fourth-place finish with 105 points. Host institution Morrisville State College rounded out the top five with 136 points.
NEAC All-Conference First, Second and Third Team selections were determined by the individual finish times at the championship race. The top 21 runners receive All-Conference honors with seven members placed on each team in the order they completed the race.
