LATHAM, N.Y. - Week 31 of the United East’s weekly honor roll has been announced with eight student-athletes being selected from six different member institutions. In women’s lacrosse, SUNY Morrisville swept the awards with Cara Walker being named the Defensive Player of the Week and Maddie Baum the Offensive Player of the Week.
In men’s lacrosse, Griffin Miller from Hilbert College took home Defensive Player of the Week honors while St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s Walker Krizman earned an Offensive Player of the Week nod.
Over at softball, Penn College’s Mackenzie Weaver collected Pitcher of the Week honors while Player of the Week went to Penn State Berks’ Arizona Shreck.
At the baseball diamond, Penn State Abington swept the honor roll as Justin Fogel and Alex Margot were named the Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.

Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Maddie Baum
SUNY Morrisville | Junior | Attack
Baum collected her second Offensive Player of the Week nod of the season as she tallied 15 points over a pair of contests. In a setback to the University of Rochester, Baum notched a hat trick. She bettered that in the weekend win over Lancaster Bible College as she scored seven goals and assisted on five others. The junior also finished with five groundballs and a pair of draw controls.
Women’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Cara Walker
SUNY Morrisville | Sophomore | Defensive Midfield
Walker helped stymy the Charger offense over the weekend, helping the Mustangs pick up a 25-2 conference victory. The sophomore caused a pair of turnovers in the contest while scooping four groundballs. She added 14 draw controls to help nullify any LBC possessions and would also score three goals and pick up an assist.
Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Alex Margot
Penn State Abington | Sophomore | Pitcher
In his lone start of the week, Margot nearly notched a complete game, no-hitter as he led Abington to an 11-0 win over St. Mary’s College. The sophomore manned all 7.0 innings on the bump for the Nittany Lions, striking out a career-high 12 without allowing a single run. Margot held his no-hit bid until the final out as he allowed the Seahawks sole hit in the top of the seventh.
Baseball Player of the Week
Justin Fogel
Penn State Abington | Junior | Catcher / Designated Hitter
Fogel homered (at least once) in all four games Abington played over the week, helping his Nittany Lions go 2-2. The junior finished the week going 10-for-16 (.625) from the dish, with six of those hits going yard. Over those four games, Fogel piled up 14 RBI including five in the finale against St. Mary’s College. The Yardley, Pa. native would reach home 10 times himself and he’d finish the week slashing .625/.684/.1.813.
Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week
Walker Krizman
St. Mary’s College of Maryland | Senior | Attack
Krizman notched his secon Offensive Player of the Week accolade this year as his scoring helped the Seahawks defeat Morrisville and take sole possession of first in the conference standings. The senior tied a career-best with four goals while assisting on one other. He also tacked on three groundballs in the winning effort.
Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Griffin Miller
Hilbert College | Sophomore | Goalie
Miller had a career outing in net for the Hawks despite a setback against Keuka College. The sophomore set a new Hilbert program record as he registered 28 saves in his 60 minutes between the pipes. Miller only allowed 10 goals on 38 shots-on-goal. He also tallied a team-high seven groundballs in the tilt.
Softball Player of the Week
Arizona Shreck
Penn State Berks | Senior | 1st Base / Pitcher
Shreck played a major role in helping the Nittany Lions go a perfect 6-0 on the week, all six coming against conference opponents. The senior notched a hit in all six tilts, finishing the week going .500 (10-for-20) from the plate. Four of those ten hits were doubles while she also collected a homer and a triple. At the week’s conclusion, Shreck also drove in 10 runs. The Jersey Shore, Pa. native also picked up two wins in the circle, finishing with seven punchouts.
Softball Pitcher of the Week
Mackenzie Weaver
Penn College | Sophomore | Pitcher
Weaver was exceptional in the circle this week, picking up a 2-0 record while also recording a save. The highlight of the stint was a Perfect Game tossed against Wells College over the weekend in which she struck out nine and retired all 15 Express batters. Earlier in the week, Weaver threw a complete game win against Harrisburg before picking up her save against the Lions in game two. She’d finish the week allowing just three hits and punching out 17 over 15.0 innings of work.
