Gregory Advances to 200m Final at Indoor Nationals

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. - Gallaudet University senior sprinter, Eric Gregory advanced to the 200m finals after winning his heat on Friday afternoon. Gregory made his second-straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships after an All-American appearance in 2023.

Last year, Gregory set the school and his personal record in the 200-meter dash (indoors) at last year's championships in Birmingham, Ala., as he finished third overall with a time of 21.16 seconds. The time was also the USA Deaf Track and Field record.

This year, the All-American returned to the 200m Dash preliminary rounds seeded second with a seed time of 21.16 seconds, run in January of this year, one-hundredth of a second behind top-seeded Sam Blaskowski of Wisconsin-La Crosse.  Starting in Lane 4 of Heat 5, Gregory ran 21.36 to top the preliminary heats.  Gregory will be the one-seed in tomorrow night’s final for the 200m, topping Blaskowski by one-hundredth of a second as the La Crosse junior crossed the line in 21.37 seconds.

The 200m Finals will take place on Saturday evening, March 9th, at 5:30 pm.  Live results will be broadcast on NCAA.com throughout the day.

Gregory has won back-to-back 400-meter dash national championships (2022, 2023) during the outdoor season and placed third in the 200-meter dash (outdoor) in 2022. Gregory has four All-American honors to his credit between outdoor and indoor and was named the United East Indoor Track Athlete of the Year on the league indoor meet on Monday, February 26th.
