Brown & Gregory Qualify for 200m Final at National Championships

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Two Gallaudet University outdoor track & field athletes competed in the preliminary rounds of the NCAA National Championship on Thursday as both Eric Gregory and Oceana Brown ran in the 200-meter dash. Both Bison hit qualifying marks and will now compete in the final to earn a shot at a National Title.

Brown ran a 24.22 in the third and final heat of the 200m dash, placing fourth in the seven person field. That heat proved to be the fastest though as her time was the eighth best across all heats, earning her a spot in the finals. That race will take place on Saturday at 6:40 pm

No stranger to hitting qualifying marks, Gregory used a time of 20.85 to earn his spot in the 200-meter dash final. The South Region Track Athete of the Year came in second place in his heat and fourth out of the 22 runners competing. His time also set a season best. Gregory will compete in the final for the 200m at 6:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Gregory will also be running his prelims in the 100m and 400m on Friday while fellow Bison Hannah Wetzel will be competing in the high jump as well.
