NEW ORLEANS, La. - Gallaudet’s Eric Gregory and Ocean Brown have earned All-American status announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in their perspective outdoor track and field events this spring.
Gregory garnered three All-America honors in his final season with the Bison, as he earned First-Team All-America in both the 200 and 400 meters and Second-Team All-America in the 100 meters, while first-year Brown, also from Gallaudet, was dubbed a First-Team All-American in the 200 meters.
Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 23-25 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., took home First-Team All-America honors, while those who placed ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th as part of a relay earned Second-Team All America.
Eric Gregory | Sr. | Metairie, La. | Gallaudet University
Gregory successfully defended his 400-meter dash national title for a third consecutive year as he crossed the finish line in 45.73 seconds to earn All-America First Team honors for a third straight year in that event. The Metairie, La. Native placed second in the 200-meter dash to earn All-America First Team honors for the second time in his career for that outdoor event. He completed his trifecta with a 12th place finish in the 100-meter dash to earn All-America Second Team honors. Three All-America honors in one season stands as a program record and in Gregory’s four-year career he has racked up eight total All-America honors in both indoor and outdoor track and field.
Oceana Brown | Fr. | Miami, Fla. | Gallaudet University
Brown finished fifth overall in the women’s 200-meter dash with a time of 24.35 seconds, which earned her First-Team All-America honors as a freshman. The Miami, Fla. became Gallaudet’s first track and field athlete in program history to earn All-American honors in their first year. Earlier this season, Brown picked up her first outdoor All-Region honor in the 200-meter dash and second overall after earning an indoor All-Region honor in the 200-meter dash as well.
Elsewhere on the list was Penn State Behrend's Dan Dabrowski, who was named the Track Athlete of the Year at the United East Championships this year. Dabrowski excelled in dicus at the United East Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as he secured his third career All-America honors with a fifth-place finish in the dicus throw which was good enough for him to be named a First-Team All-American.
