United East Athletes of the Week - March 10, 2025

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for March 10, 2025.  Today will include Players of the Week for men’s and women's lacrosse, men’s volleyball, baseball and is the first weekly accolades for softball.

This week’s selections included contests from Monday, March 4 through Sunday, March 9, 2025. A total of 10 student athletes were recognized for their performances.

  • Defensive Player of the Week

    Claire Boudreau / SO / St. Mary’s College of Maryland / Towson, Md. / Towson

    Claire Boudreau notched 16 draw controls, six ground balls, and three caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Seahawks. Boudreau grabbed a career- and game-high nine draws plus two ground balls and a caused turnover in a 16-12 road loss to Stevenson. She ended the week with a game-high seven draw controls, a game- and season-best four loose ball pickups, and two caused turnovers in a 15-3 road win over Juniata for St. Mary's College's first win of the season.

    This is the second Player of the Week for Boudreau in as many weeks.

     

    Offensive Player of the Week

    Hailey Betch / SR / St. Mary’s College of Maryland / Severna Park, Md. / Severna Park

    Hailey Betch put up eight goals, two assists, and seven draw controls in a 1-1 week for the Seahawks. Betch started the week with with four goals and two assists while grabbing five draws and one ground ball in a 16-12 road loss to Stevenson. She wrapped up the week with a season-best four goals for the third time this season and two draw controls in the team's first win of the season - a 15-3 victory at Juniata.

    This is the second Player of the Week award for Betch this season and her fifth overall (02/02/23  |  02/02/24 | 04/15/24 | 02/24/25)

  • Offensive Player of the Week

    Elliot Dotson / JR\\FR / Penn College / Wilmington, Del. / Salesianum

    Dotson tallied 15 points in two road wins at Lycoming College and Guilford College. The freshman attack scored a season-best 10 points in a 20-10 win against the Quakers on Saturday with a team-high five goals and five assists to score his third career-hat trick. On Wednesday Dotson scored two goals and dished out three assists in a five-point day to lead the Wildcats in a 20-7 win against the Warriors. Dotson placed 10 of his 15 shots on-goal for a 66% shooting percentage on the week.

    This is the second  Player of the Week award for Dotson this season, earning his first accolade three weeks ago.

    Defensive Player of the Week

    Joe Szymanski / JR / St. Mary's College of Maryland / Easton, Md. / Easton

    Joe Szymanski contributed 16 ground balls and seven caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Seahawks. Szymanski led the defense with a career-best 10 ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 14-12 road win over Catholic. He then picked up six loose balls and caused a career-best five turnovers in a 14-6 loss to Elizabethtown.

    This is Szymanski's first Player of the Week award of his career.

  • Player of the Week

    Robert Estrada / SR / Keystone College / Maracay, Venezuela / James J. Ferris

    Estrada batted .471 with eight hits, five RBI, and a slugging percentage of .765 as Keystone 3-2 on the week. The senior outfielder was a perfect 7-for-7 on stolen bases. Estrada had a monster game in the team's win on Saturday against Curry where he recorded five hits with three RBI.

    This is the first Player of the Week award for Estrada this season.

    Pitcher of the Week

    Sean Brennan / SR / Keystone College / Hatfield, Pa. / North Penn

    Brennan dominated in his second start of the 2025 campaign as he pitched six scoreless innings while allowing only three hits. The senior right-hander struck out 13 batters to lead Keystone to a 6-2 win over St. John Fisher on Thursday.

    This is Brennan's first Player of the Week award of the season and third of his career (03/18/24 | 03/25/24)

  • Player of the Week

    Kaylee Mushinski / JR / Penn State Brandywine / Allentwon, N.J. / Allentown

    Hit safely in the first four games of Brandywine's season, batting .500 with three multi-hit games and three extra-base hits. Scored a run in all four games and had at least one RBI in three of four games, including a three-RBI effort in the season opener against North Central (Minn.). Finished a home run shy of the cycle against New England College on March 8.

    This is the first Player of the Week award for Garcia of her career.

    Pitcher of the Week

    April Lewandowski / JR / Penn State Brandywine / Atco, N.J. / Hammonton

    April Lewandowski went 2-0 with two complete games, a 1.08 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 13.0 innings last week. She threw the 11th complete-game shutout of her career and struck out six, while allowing three hits in a five-inning win over North Central (Minn.). She also pitched all eight innings of a 3-2 victory over Husson, a team that won two NCAA Tournament games last season. She allowed two runs and struck out four batters.

    This is the first Pitcher of the Week award for April Lewandowski of the year.

  • Defensive Player of the Week

    Jackson Wolfe / FY / Wilson College / Abbottstown, Pa. / New Oxford

    Wolfe had a busy week across the rotation as he helped Wilson split its final non-conference matches of the season. He totaled 20 kills offensively with 12 in a win over Mount Aloysius. He added three aces as well. Defensively he was strong as well with nine blocks and seven digs against the Mounties. He added another block and three digs against Penn State Behrend.

    This is the second career Player of the Week award for Wolfe with his other coming on 02/10/24.

    Offensive Player of the Week

    Sam Poirier / SO / Cairn University / Nogyang, South Korea / International Christian School Uijeongbu

    Poirier was back on the attack this week, racking up a game-high 18 kills on Tuesday night vs. Immaculata and then on Saturday at Gallaudet, finished off the week with 21 kills as the Highlanders continued their four-game win streak. 

    This is the second career Player of the Week award for Poirier in as many weeks
