LATHAM, N.Y. - The Lancaster Bible College men’s volleyball team (23-7) has drawn No. 8 Messiah University for a 2025 NCAA Championship Opening Round match up. That game will be held on Friday in Buena Vista, Va.
Joining the Chargers and Falcons in the bracket are host No. 2 Southern Virginia University (31-1), St. Joseph’s (L.I.) (22-8) and Thiel College (22-6). Find the full link to the bracket here: NCAA BRACKET
The Chargers continued their dominant conference streak on Saturday winning their third-straight conference title (second United East title) in as many years. During that stretch, the team from Lancaster, Pa. has never dropped a single set, let alone a conference contest. Jordan Yoder played a big part in helping the Chargers nab their third title as he captured MVP honors with a 10 kill, 12 dig double-double.
This season, the Chargers have gotten a lot of support from the service line as they average 2.06 aces per set which ranks 12th in Division III. Defense has also helped spur the squad as they have held opponents to a hitting percentage of just .146 (5th in the country). Kevin Bryant has played a role in that defense as his .986 blocks per set ranks 20th amongst all DIII players.
Messiah (25-3) earned their way to the Big Dance via an at-large selection as the Falcons fell to eventual MAC Champions, Stevens Institute of Technology. They rely on an effective attack scheme that has helped them earn the fifth most kills per set average in the country at 13.02.
Southern Virginia (CVC), St. Joseph’s (Skyline) and Thiel (PAC) all earned their way into the Championship via automatic bids from winning their conference tournaments.
