No. 8 Penn State Abington def. No. 9 Notre Dame of Maryland, 5-4 (BOX SCORE)

This was a back and forth battle beginning with a single run courtesy of a sacrifice fly by Charlene Torres. Abington answered back two frames later with a pair of runs. Hailey Gamble got the scoring going with an RBI triple and a Gretchen Yanss RBI single gave the Nittany Lions the lead. Two innings later, the Gators retook the lead with a three run stanza. Torres, Julianna Leatherwood and Bethani Newbold all registered an RBI.

Abington knotted things up at four runs each in the fifth and Isabella Antosiewicz drove in the eventual game winner in the sixth.

No. 7 Wilson College def. No. 10 Rosemont College, 10-1 (5 Inn.)  (BOX SCORE)

The Phoenix piled on early as they opened the contest with a seven run bottom of the first. Wilson kept the bats alive the next two innings, plating three and two, respectively. Rosemont was able to get one on the board in the fifth but it wasn’t enough to complete a comeback.

Carleigh Magers was also feeling it as she went 3-for-3 as well collecting two RBI and a double. Kayla Talbert rounded out the multi-hit players, collecting two including a two-RBI triple.

It was pitching by committee for the home squad as Julia Wilkes punched out four through the first 2.0 innings. Elena Worthington picked up the win as she tossed a scoreless 2.0 and Rylee Piper finished the game, throwing the final frame.
