LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for January 13, 2026. Today will include Players of the Week from Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field.
This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, January 11. A total of four student-athletes from two different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field
Track Athlete of the Week
David Helms / JR / Lancaster Bible College / Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg
Helms set a pair of top times this weekend as the Chargers campeted in their first meet of 2026 at Lebanon Valley College. The junior took first out of 12 runners in the 3K, posting a conference best time of 9:00.47, He then registered another United East top time in the mile as his time of 4:34.04 earned him 3rd place in a field of 15 runners.
This is Helms' second weekly accolade of the year and his fourth of his career (12/09/25, 02/11/25, 01/28/25).
Field Athlete of the Week
Solomon David / FY / St. Mary's Colllege of Maryland
Solomon David broke the triple jump record as St. Mary's College opened 2026 at the Spartan Invitational hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas College at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex Friday (Jan. 9). David qualified for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Indoor Championships (Mar. 6-7) in the triple jump. He notched SMCM's highest finish of the day as he came in fifth in the triple jump with a school record distance of 13.72m (5th in Mid-Atlantic Region, 1st in conference). He displaced the previous school record of 11.79m set by Zack Kralec '26 at the SU Invite on Feb. 15, 2025.
This is David's first ever weekly accoalde.

Field Athlete of the Week
Elly Bruner / JR /. Lancaster Bible College / Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg
Brunner did a bit of everything this weekend at the Lebanon Valley College meet, hitting the podium twice in the jumps events. The junior lept 10.88m in the triple jump which took first overall, placed her atop the conference standings and earned her the Charger record. She then placed second in the high jump with a United East leading 1.55m jump. On the track, Brunner also claimed the top spot in the 55m hurdles with a time of 9.31.
This is Brunner's first ever weekly accoalde.
Track Athlete of the Week
Seanna Dougherty / SO / Lancaster Bible College / Brownstown, Pa. / Home School
Dougherty ran a piar of distance races this weekend as Lancaster Bible competed at the Lebanon Valley Invite. The sophomore took the bronze in the 3K with a time of 11:29.96, whoch is the fastest amongst United East runners. She'd also clock a 5:56.97 in the mile which ranks second just 10 seconds behind teammate Abby Ames.
This is Dougherty's first weekly accolade of the season and her second in her career (2/11/25).
