LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for January 27, 2026. Today will include Players of the Week from Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field.
This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, January 25. A total of four student-athletes from two different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field
Track Athlete of the Week
David Helms / JR / Lancaster Bible College / Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg
For the third week in a row, Helms takes home the weekly track honor as he produced a quality outing at the Coach I Invite hosted by Frankilin & Marshall on Saturday. The junior improved his conference leading mile time as took home sixth out of 56 with a time of 4:26.45. He then collected a gold medal in teh 5000m as his time of 15:15.56 led the pack of 27 runners.
This is Helms' fourth weekly accolade of the year and his sixth of his career (1/20/26, 1/13/26, 12/09/25, 02/11/25, 01/28/25).
Field Athlete of the Week
Andrew Geocos / FR / Penn State Harrisburg / Westfield, N.J. / Westfield
Andrew Geocos' impressive rookie season continued on Saturday at the Seamus McElligott Invitational hosted by Haverford. The pole vaulter earned a runner-up finish in the event out of 14 total competitors with a top clearance of 4.40 meters - a mark just .1 meters off the program's all-time record and one that ranks top-10 in the region.
This is Geocos' first career weekly accoalde.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field
Field Athlete of the Week
Elly Bruner / JR /. Lancaster Bible College / Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasburg
For the third time in as many weeks Bruner collected the conference weekly accolade inside the track, putting up some solid marks at the Coach I Invite hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. The junior lept 5.03m in the long jump which not only set a personal record but also earned her the top spot in the conference this season. She then added a fifth place finish in the high jump, leaping 1.50m which is just 0.10m off of her conference leading mark in that event.

Track Athlete of the Week
Cadee Cameron / SO / Lancaster Bible College / Mountain Top, Pa. / Crestwood
Cameron had one of her best outings of the season as teh Chargers competed at the Coach I Invite on Saturday. The sophomore took 8th in the 5000m which set a personal record as well as the top time in the United East. She then clocked a 5:52.53 in the mile, which was also a personal best.
This is Cameron's first ever weekly accolade.
