LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for February 24, 2026. Today will include Players of the Week from Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field.
This week’s selections included contests through Sunday, February 22. A total of four student-athletes from two different member institutions were recognized for their performances.
Women’s Indoor Track & Field
Field Athlete of the Week
Sydney Taylor / JR / Carlow University / Castle Shannon, Pa. / Keystone Oaks
Taylor hit the podium in both of her events she competed in at the Muskie INvite #4 hosted by Muskingum on Friday. The junior took home the gold in the long jump as she leapt a distance of 4.85 meters. She then grabbed a second-place finish in the triple jump as she hit a mark of 10.55m. Talyor currently sits in second in the conference in the long jump and fourth in the triple.
This is the first career weekly award for Taylor.
Track Athlete of the Week
Mackenna Rankin / SO / Carlow University / New Bethleham, Pa. / Redbank Valley
Rankin nearly broke a personal record in the 3,000m this weekend at the Muskie Invite #4. The sophomore crossed the finish line in 12:46.90 which earned her fourth place in the race and was just 0.59 seconds off of a PR.
This is the first career weekly award for Rankin.
Men’s Indoor Track & Field
Track Athlete of the Week
Ryan Hileman / SR / Carlow University / Irwin, Pa. / Norwin
Ryan Hileman performed well across three different events on Friday at the Muskie Invite #4. The senior started with a 60-meter hurdle time of 9.94 which earned him sixth in the race and sixth in the conference. He then took home 12th in the 400m (1:01.7) and 19th in the 200m (27.08)
This is the first career weekly award for Hileman.
Field Athlete of the Week
Ethan Gonzalez / FR / Lancaster Bible College / Binghamton, N.Y. / Kingsborough CC
Gonzalez found success in the high jump this past Saturday at the Golden Bear Invite hosted by Kutztown. The first year leaper set a mark of 1.83 which is the highest from a Charger jumper this season and tied for the third-highest mark in the conference.
This is the Gonzalez's first ever weekly award.
