LATHAM, N.Y. - Two close games saw St. Mary's College (Md.) and Penn State Abington come out victorious in Wednesday's semifinal round of the 2026 United East Women's Basketball Championship. The scores of the game were as follows:
#1 St. Mary’s College of Maryland def. #4 Cedar Crest College, 39-32
#3 Penn State Abington def. #2 Penn College, 67-62
Abington will head to St. Mary's City, Md. to face-off against the Seahawks in the United East championship final on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

#1 St. Mary’s College of Maryland def. #4 Cedar Crest College, 39-32 (BOX SCORE)
St. Mary’s College leaned on a gritty effort to grind out the win in a low-scoring affair. Keira Mason paced the Seahawks with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Tramarie Mobray contributed seven steals, while Skylar Woodyard and Sydney Shaw both added four points. Halimah Hajhassan also provided 5 points and 4 rebounds. On the Cedar Crest side, Ella Bincarosky led all scorers with 12 points, and Ginger Kerdock added 10 points and 10 rebounds. Samora Merchant chipped in seven points, but Cedar Crest struggled to get into an offensive rhythm against St. Mary’s defense. The Seahawks locked down defensively in the second half to secure the win.
#3 Penn State Abington def. #2 Penn College, 67-62 (BOX SCORE)
In a tightly contested United East semifinal, Penn State Abington secured a 67–62 victory over Penn College behind strong two-way performances down the stretch. Amirah Hackney led the Lions with 19 points while racking up six steals. Tarianda Washington powered Abington with a 16-point, 13-rebound double-double, while Amina Reid delivered a well-rounded effort of 12 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, keeping the offense balanced. Nia Newman added nine points and nine boards to bolster the frontcourt presence.
For Penn College, Gigi Parlante poured in a game-high 28 points, including 12-of-14 at the free-throw line, while Mia Patterson added 12 points in support, and Breana Valentine contributed 11 points and nine assists. Despite putting the pressure on Abington, the WIldcats were unable to catch the Lions as Abington took home the victory.
