Chargers, Seahawks Tied Atop the Women's Track & Field Standings After Day One

LATHAM, N.Y. – After day one of the 2026 United East Women’s Track & Field Championships, Lancaster Bible College and St. Mary’s (Md.) sit tied atop the team standings.  

The Chargers were led by Elly Bruner who won the high jump, clearing the bar at a height of 1.58 meters. LBC also earned a first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, with Faith Garber winning the event at a time of 1:19.29.

The Seahawks picked up three individual champions on the day with Jillian Zukley winning the Hammer, with a throw of 46.25 meters. Rocksann Smith took the top spot in the javelin, recording a throw of 42.11 meters. On the track, Ella Mitchell won the 10,000 meters, finishing the distance event in a time of 39:55.17.

Penn State Harrisburg sits in third place as a team, trailing the top squads by five points after day one. The Lions had MaKayla Richel win the 3,000-meter steeple chase in a time of 12:30.81.

Cedar Crest College is fourth overall after two athletes recorded top three finishes. Sydney Taylor helped Carlow University earn some points, winning the long jump with a leap of 5.20 meters.

The final 13 events of the championship will take place on Sunday, starting at 10:00 AM.
