GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced its 2012 NAC West Division* All-Conference selections, with first, second and third team honors being awarded by position to a total of 36 student-athletes, as selected by the conference coaches.
The NEAC has also announced its individual women's lacrosse award winners. Cazenovia College senior midfielder Christy Foster (Canton, N.Y.) was selected as the Offensive Player of the Year after putting together a record-breaking season for the Wildcats. Through 16 games, Foster registered 74 points, 69 goals, 56 groundballs, 67 draw controls and 31 caused turnovers, which placed her first on the team and in the top five in the conference for each of those categories. Her point total also helped her become Cazenovia's all-time career points leader, a milestone she achieved a week ago that helped her garner a NAC West Offensive Student-Athlete of Week honor.
Keuka College junior Molly Hogan (Horseheads, N.Y.) was named the Defensive Player of the Year after a dominating season guarding the net for the Storm. Hogan was among the stingiest goalies in the country, as she is currently the national leader in save percentage (.593) while being third nationally and leading the conference in goals-against average (6.10). She also made 96 saves on the season and went 10-2 overall, while twice being honored by both the NEAC and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) as its Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week.
Morrisville State's Shelby Wood (Duanesburg, N.Y.) was chosen as the inaugural Rookie of the Year after a sensational freshman campaign. Wood led the West Division in points (86) and was second in goals (69), while leading the conference in caused turnovers (31) and finishing in the top 10 in assists (17), groundballs (55) and draw controls (64). She was selected as the division's Student-Athlete of the Week three times, twice for offense or once for defense.
The Coach of the Year award went to Morrisville State's Amanda Nobis. Nobis led the Mustangs to the West Division regular season championship with a perfect 9-0 record, while also guiding her squad to a program-best 11-4 overall record.

The North Eastern Athletic Conference has thirteen NCAA Division III member institutions which include: Cazenovia College, College of St. Elizabeth, Gallaudet University, Keuka College, Lancaster Bible College, Pennsylvania State University - Abington, Pennsylvania State University - Berks, Pennsylvania State University -Harrisburg, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY Institute of Technology, SUNY Morrisville State College, Wells College, and Wilson College. Associate members are: Hilbert College (M Lacrosse), Medaille College (M&W Lacrosse) and Rutgers University - Camden (M Golf).
*Beginning with the 2010 season, the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has partnered with the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) in the sports of baseball, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's tennis. The NEAC will compete as associate members of the NAC in women's lacrosse and men's tennis, while the NAC will compete as associate members of the NEAC in baseball and women's tennis. Members from each conference will be divided into an East and West Division for each sport, with each division holding a championship and the two divisional champions then facing off to determine the conference champion. The conference winner for each sport will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championships. For baseball and women's lacrosse, this partnership will end following the 2012 season.
A complete breakdown of the NEAC/NAC women's lacrosse partnership is as follows:
Women's Lacrosse: NEAC members Cazenovia, College of St. Elizabeth, Keuka, Lancaster Bible, Medaille, Penn State Abington, SUNY Institute of Technology, SUNY Morrisville, Wells and Wilson will play as associate members of the NAC in a West Division. The East Division will consist of NAC members Castleton, Colby-Sawyer, Green Mountain, Husson, Maine-Farmington, New England College and Thomas.
