NEAC Releases Women's Lacrosse All-Conference and Major Awards

LATHAM, N.Y. - The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) has announced it's 2021 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams as well as its major award winners. All-Conference is composed of two teams, each comprised of three attackmen, three midfielders, three defenders, one goalie and two at-large bids . The conference has also awarded the Offensive Player of the Year, the Defensive Player of the Year, the Rookie of the Year and the Coach of the Year.

Kendal Ream was a force on offense all season long helping her earn the title as the NEAC's Offensive Player of the Year. Ream ranks second in the NEAC in goals (37), assists (16) and total points (53) while totaling the most successful free-position goals (11). The Willow Street, Pa. native scored in every single contest but one, cashing in a career-high eight in the win over Mount Aloysius College. It wasn't just her scoring that got it done either as the midfielder continuously filled out the stat sheet every game. Ream has currently recorded a conference-leading 65 draw controls, averaging 7.22 a game (19th most in Division III). Her 27 groundballs are second to only teammate Katelyn Perrotta and Ream isn't afraid to help out on defense either as her 13 caused turnovers ranks fourth in the NEAC.

Kadi Denney anchored SUNY Morrisville between the pipes this season, earning her NEAC Defensive Player of the Year honors. The sophomore posted a record of 5-2 on the year, accumulating that over nearly 293 minutes in goal. Over that span, Denney racked up 48 saves, including a career-high 13 against Oswego State. The Lorraine, N.Y. native has also registered the conference's best save percentage, turning aside 47.5% of all shots faced.

In her first full year as a Mustang, Maddie Baum turned in an impressive campaign earning her the Conference's Rookie of the Year honors.  The sophomore averages 7.00 points-per-game which ranks her sixth among all Division III players. Baum has piled up a conference leading 57 points across her eight games played. Of those 57 points, her 29 assists is 14 more than the next closest NEAC player. She has also registered a point in every single game while recording double-digit points in three tilts. The Fulton, N.Y. native has aided her team in other ways as well, tallying the fourth most groundballs in the conference (25) and the fifth most caused turnovers (10).

In her seventh year at the helm of the Chargers, Cheri Horst turned in her best performance earning her Coach of the Year honors. Horst helped Lancaster Bible churn out its first winning season under her tutelage, notching the second-seed in the NEAC Championship with a 6-3 record. Horst prides her team on ball possession as her squad's 10.67 turnovers per game is the third fewest in the nation. She also help guide five Chargers to All-Conference selections, including Ream who was tabbed the NEAC's Player of the Year.
