Gallaudet's Perry and Penn State Abington's Sanders Earn All-Region Honors

LATHAM, N.Y. - Gallaudet’s Cassidy Perry and Penn State Abington’s Angela Sanders have earned all-region recognition from D3hoops.com. Perry was named D3hoops.com All-Region 4 Second Team, while Sanders was tabbed Third Team All-Region.

Perry’s most recent accolade comes after being named a finalist for the prestigious Jostens Trophy earlier this month. She was named the United East Volt Division Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year after a tremendous senior season. The Frederick, Md. native earned first-team all-conference honors and was the United East Player of the week seven times this season.  
This past year, Perry was fourth in NCAA Division III for field goal percentage (60.8), fifth in defensive rebounds per game (8.8), sixth in rebounds per game (13.0) and 11th in rebounds (313). The senior forward finished the season with 484 points, 313 rebounds, 81 assists, 55 blocks, and 38 steals in 24 games played. Perry concludes her career as the third all-time leading scorer in Gallaudet history with 1,762 points and 1,083 rebounds (second all-time). 

Angela Sanders | Sr. | Philadelphia, Pa. | Penn State Abington 

Sanders earned United East All-Conference First-Team honors after the culmination of her final year at Penn State Abington. The Philadelphia, Pa. native is just the second player in program history to earn all-conference honors for three straight seasons. This past season she was also named the United East Volt Division Offensive Player of the Week three times. 

The senior forward had a stellar senior season in which she averaged a career-high 19.6 points per game, while setting a new career mark in rebounding at 10.4 a clip. Sanders recorded 14 double-doubles, 550 points, 290 rebounds, 51 assists, and 62 steals in 28 games played this year. She finished her career as the third all-time leading scorer at Penn State Abington with 1,392 points and had 758 career rebounds which is good enough to rank first all-time for the Lions.
