St. Mary's College's Betch Collects All-Region Accolade

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – 
Junior Hailey Betch was the lone representative from the United East Conference on the 2024 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Metro Region teams as announced by IWLCA Friday afternoon (May 17).

Now a two-time all-region selection, Betch landed on the Second Team for the second year in a row. She garnered her third straight First Team All-United East Conference award on May 8.
 
The 6-0 attacker was one of 256 Division III women's lacrosse players honored by the IWLCA with a selection to one of the eight All-Region Teams. Betch is now eligible to be named to an IWLCA All-America team, which will be announced May 24.
 
A two-time United East Offensive Player of the Week this season, she notched her 200th career point and 200th career draw control with a five-point, five-draw control performance at Cedar Crest College (Mar. 30). Betch also scored her 100th career goal with a three-goal effort at Roanoke College (Feb. 17).
 
On May 12, she tallied her 100th point of the season with a two-goal effort at Franklin & Marshall College in the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament.
 
Betch currently ranks 21st in Division III with a conference- and team-best 74 goals with ranking 25th with a league- and team-best 100 points. Additionally, she ranks 50th in the nation with a conference third-best 3.89 goals per game and 52nd with a league second-best 5.26 points per game. Betch is also tied for third in the conference with a team second-best 26 assists.
 
She contributed 29 draw controls, 13 ground balls, and eight caused turnovers as well.
 
St. Mary's College finished the 2024 season with a 12-7 (4-0 UEC) overall record and three-peated as both the United East regular-season and tournament champions. The Seahawks collected their third straight, and 11th overall, berth in the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship Tournament, bowing out in the second round to No. 3 Franklin & Marshall.
