MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg’s Sports Information Director, Thomas Klemick, along with Assistant Sports Information Director, Kendis Butler, have collected five honors from College Sports Communicators (CSC) for excellence in creative and digital design.
Klemick won Designer of the Year in the Best of Division III and was named fifth in the nation for Designer of the Year in the College Division. These distinctions were based off an extensive portfolio that Klemick and his sports information team worked on from throughout the 2023-24 athletic seasons.
Elsewhere, Klemick represented Penn State Harrisburg in the category of Non-Game Day Graphics, where he earned Best of Division III and sixth in the nation in the college division for softball’s Madelyn Lehigh’s all-time hits leader graphic.
Rounding out the accomplishments for Klemick and his team was the distinction of Best of Division III for softball’s schedule poster that was created this spring.
Vice Chairman of the Creative and Digital Design Contest, Patrick Murphy, had this to say on the results of this year’s contest: “On behalf of myself and Chairman Riley Baker, I would like to thank all this year’s participants in the Create & Digital Design Contest. I want to congratulate all of our winners and honorees for all of their excellent work. After personally reviewing almost every single entry that earned recognition, I can honestly say without hesitation that there are so many talented and innovative individuals in our industry at every level of collegiate athletics.”
This year’s field of participants saw more than 1,600 entries, an increase of 69% from last year’s contest and included 697 entries from the University Division and 921 from the College Division. The most popular contest across both divisions was Non-Game Day Graphics.
