No. 2 Penn State Harrisburg def. No. 3 Penn State Abington, 1-1 2OT (5-3 Penalty Kicks) | (BOX SCORE)
This game was decided on set pieces as every time a ball hit the back of the net, it was off of a stoppage. Penn State Abington was the first to strike as Aramis Shire nailed a free kick that curled by the wall and to the inside of the near post to make it 1-0 in the 57th minute. Harrisburg began to apply pressure though earning a free kick right at the top of the box with just under seven minutes to play. Malachi Abma got behind this ball and ripped a shot that went post-and-in, knotting things at 1-1. That score would hold through the rest of regulation and the two overtime periods.
The first three penalty kickers for both teams seemed to score with ease. Harrisburg would go up 4-3 courtesy of a William Kim PK and Abington would leave the door open as they skied their fourth shot over the crossbar. Parker Christina made no mistakes as he took the penalty, punching Harrisburg’s ticket to the Championship Final.
No. 5 Penn College def. No. 1 St. Mary’s College of Maryland, 2-1 (BOX SCORE)
After a scoreless first half, the Seahawks were the first to break the standstill. Franco Reyes beat the Wildcat keeper in the 67th minute to give the home team a 1-0 lead. That lead only lasted moments though as Penn College equalized just over three minutes later. Mason Kostick found Logan Pietrzak in the box and the latter was able to find the back of the net. Momentum shifted in favor of the Wildcats after that and in the 79th minute the game-winner was scored courtesy of Diego Diaz.
Penn College keeper, Justin Crismale, had a solid outing in the win as he turned aside six Seahawk shots.
