United East Athletes of the Week - March 11, 2025

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East conference has announced its Athletes of the Week for March 4, 2025.  Today will include Athletes of the Week will just include Women’s Tennis. 

This week’s selections included contests from Monday, March 3 through Sunday, March 9. A total of two student athletes were recognized for their performances.

  • Women's Tennis Player of the Week

    Jania Weist / JR / Lancaster Bible College / Ephrata, Pa. / Veritas Academy

    Weist captured a win in all four of the matches that she competed in this past week, helping her squad to a 1-1 record. In the week's opener against Mary Baldwin, Weist got the day going with a 6-2 win at second doubles with partner Susannah Clawser. She then when on to sweep her opponent at second singles, 6-3, 6-0. The following day, Weist and Clawser teamed up again for a win at second doubles, 6-0. The junior then had her toughest battle of the week in the second singles flight as she edged out her foe 1-6, 6-3, 11-9.

    This is Weist's first time being named Player of the Week of the season
