United East Releases Men's Tennis All-Conference Teams & Major Award Winners

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East has announced its 2025 Men’s Tennis All-Conference Teams and Major Award winners. The two All-Conference teams are each made up of six singles players and three doubles teams, regardless of flight. The conference also awarded its Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and its Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 season.

    Major Award Winners
Player of the Year - Peng Mark Hou (Penn State Harrisburg)
Rookie of the Year - Krishna Gurram (Penn State Abington)
Coach of the Year - Andrew Bookman (Penn State Harrisburg)

Peng Mark Hou had a spectacular season, highlighted by an unblemished conference record of 7-0 from the top singles flight. Hou finished the year with a 14-1 record overall and earned his way into the Regional Rankings as an “In Consideration” singles player, marking only the second time in conference history its had a player listed. The bright lights never seemed to bother Hou either, as his 6-0, 6-3 win at first singles was one of the key victories in the Championship Final win.

Gurram was a steady feature in the Penn State Abington lineup, posting up most of his time from the second singles flight. The Souderton, Pa. native finished the season with a 7-3 record from that slot while also picking up a win in the first flight against Neumann University. Gurram tossed out three bagels throughout the season, including a 6-0, 6-0 win in the conference season opener against Cairn. His efforts helped Abington to one of its best seasons in program history.

Andrew Bookman kept his squad as steady as could be as he entered his second season at the helm of the Lions. His guidance led the squad to a perfect 7-0 record in conference action and a 16-5 record overall. Through his coaching efforts, four of his singles players collected All-Conference honors while two doubles teams earned First Team All-Conference accolades. Bookman’s success followed him into the postseason where the Lions hoisted the conference trophy for the second-straight year.
