United East Announces Women's Tennis All-Conference and Major Award Winners

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East has announced its 2025 Women’s Tennis All-Conference Teams and Major Award winners. The three All-Conference teams are each made up of six singles players, three doubles teams and two at-large selections, regardless of flight. The conference also awarded its Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and its Coach of the Year for the 2024-25 season.

    Major Award Winners

Player of the Year - Cleo Solomon (St. Mary's College of Maryland)

Rookie of the Year - Sarah Levit (St. Mary's College of Maryland)

Coach of the Year - Sona Brymer (St. Mary's College of Maryland)

Solomon was dominant in her second year at St. Mary’s College. The Waldorf, Md. native posted a perfect 8-0 record in conference action and garnered a 13-2 record from the top singles flight across the entire season. The sophomore finished the year on a 11-match unbeaten streak, shutting out her opponent in 10 sets along the way. One of her most impressive wins came in a tight battle with Abington as she downed her first singles opponent 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).

Levit played a large role in the middle of the lineup for the Seahawks, helping her squad to the top seed in the United East Championship. She’d rack up seven wins in the third singles flight, including six in conference play. Six times, she held her foes to zero games in a set, including shutout wins against Bryn Athyn College and Notre Dame of Maryland University. Levit also nabbed seven wins in doubles, playing in the second slot with Giselle Harris.

For the third time in as many years, Sona Brymer has been tabbed the United East’s Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year. Her record spoke to it in 2024-25 as her squad posted a perfect 8-0 record in conference play, earning the top seed in the United East Championship. Her guidance helped lead five players to All-Conference singles accolades as well as three doubles teams.
